This year's 3rd Annual Young Artist Showcase is now in the history books and was it a success?

Oh, yes it was!

Arts of Kona was excited by the response we had to the showcase from teachers, parents, students and the public. It has been overwhelming. We were entertained and amazed throughout the day. This year we showcased 301 students from 17 West Hawaii schools.

Arts of Kona sends out a BIG MAHALO to the teachers, directors, instructors of all of these talented young people. Their unending devotion to these students made the whole event a fantastic success.

Join us and experience excellence in the arts! You are invited to the 3^rd Annual Member Artists’ Showcase and Sale to be held on February 19, 2011, at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Convention Center from 9:30am to 3pm. Artists of all disciplines – cultural, performance and visual – will present their art residents and visitors. Admission and parking are FREE.

Oct 23, 2010 was Proclaimed Young Artists Day in Kona by both Governor Lingle and Mayor Kenoi. Arts of Kona hosted over 265 students in grades 3-12, representing over 25 schools and organizations, at the 2nd Annual Young Artists' Showcase at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Convention Center.

Kona Music Sampler vol 2 was held on July 10, 2010 at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.

Headliners were Grammy Award winners Charles Michael Brotman and Charlie Recaido. Their slack key performance was received by loud and happy acclamation.
